UPDATE ON TRIAL SANCTIONING REQUIREMENTS AND GUIDELINES FOR TRIALS AFTER AUGUST 1, 2020

Posted on 07/14/202007/25/2020 By Pearse Ward

The USBCHA has affirmed its decision to resume sanctioning of sheepdog and cattledog trials scheduled on or after August 1, 2020.  Given that the COVID-19 pandemic is still among us, it is important for trial hosts and handlers to exercise the utmost caution when attending USBCHA trials and events.  To facilitate this, USBCHA has instituted new interim rules and developed additional resources to help trial hosts and handlers navigate this uncharted landscape.  More information can be found under the COVID-19 menu item.

USBCHA cannot stress strongly enough that regardless of your personal views on the Covid-19 pandemic, in the coming months it will be important for all handlers to respect fellow handlers and trial hosts with respect to social distancing, personal protective equipment, hygiene, respiratory etiquette and, most of all, to follow the requirements of trial hosts to ensure that trials can take place in the safest environment possible.

August 1, 2020 marks the beginning of the 2021 trial year.  With this year’s Finals canceled, USBCHA has decided to scrub 2020 Open points and Nursery legs from the books and start fresh on August 1.  No additional trials will be held at the 2021 Finals for aged-out Nursery dogs.
