Purina Pro Plan Award for the Outstanding Field Trial Nursery Dog
Purina Pro Plan and the Purina Award Committee are expanding the Purina Award Program to recognize outstanding performance by our young dogs. The award will go to the high point nursery dog throughout the qualifying season.
To determine the winner, we will be using the USBCHA tracking of points and find the highest total of “All Points” listed for the dog under the “View Details” section for each nursery dog. This includes one point gained for each qualification regardless of whether it was gained as a nursery or an open run. Handlers running Nursery dogs in Open Class are responsible for notifying the USBCHA Secretary of their dog’s date of birth to ensure qualification points are properly recorded. The competition will follow the annual USBCHA qualification season of August 1, through July 31.
As an example, for the 2023 trial season Scott Glen’s Mist had the highest total, gaining 28 points.
In the event of a tie, the dog with the most first place wins receives the award; if that is equal, then it moves down to the dog with the most second place finishes and so on until we have a winner.
We would like to keep it timely and present award at the National Finals during current year of competition.
The award will begin with the 2024 trial season and will include a twenty by twenty four inch oil painting of the winning dog, along with a year’s supply of Purina Pro Plan.
