2016 USBCHA NATIONAL CATTLEDOG FINALS,
September 22-25, CRESTON, IOWA.
Curtis Travis of Creston, Iowa has been awarded the bid for the 2016 National Cattledog Finals, to be held September 22-25, 2016. Because we have moved the cattledog finals from the spring to the fall, there are several dates that need to be changed. First, trials through July 31, 2016 will count towards qualifying for the Finals. The Finals entry deadline is August 15, 2016. We also clarified the Nursery age rule to read as follows:
To qualify for the Cattledog Nursery Finals, the dog may not have turned four years of age before December 31st of the year of the Finals. (For example, to compete in the 2016 cattledog nursery finals, the dog may not have turned 4 anytime before December 31, 2016.)
The United States Border Collie Handler's Association, Inc. (USBCHA) is the sanctioning body for sheep and cattle dog trials trials throughout the United States and Canada. It was founded in 1979 and has grown into an organization of more than 800 members. Members who qualify at sanctioned Open trials during the year are eligible to compete in the USBCHA National Sheep and Cattledog Finals to determine the champion Open dog and handler for that year. The USBCHA had our first National Cattledog Finals in 2001.
